Suspended in the stars | Book 1 Review and Summary
"A GIRL IN HIDING. A BOY ON THE RUN. THE FATE OF THE GALAXY BETWEEN THEM."
The blurb on the back of the book said this YA space fantasy romance (we really need a shorter name for that) was "The Greatest Showman meets Star Wars." Say less!
Talie is a trapeze artists in a circus on a spaceship hiding a deadly secret. Renner is a muffin loving soldier on the run with evidence of corruption that could tear apart the galaxy. When Talie agrees to hide him, it becomes a fight for survival and a race across the galaxy.
I really loved this book! The imagery of the circus and the world-building is just wonderful! Every character feels like a real person with their own personalities, motivations and backstories! Even though this is a sci-fi, it leans more into the space fantasy genre. There was never a moment where I felt overwhelmed by the science or the terminology to the point that I was so absorbed I read it in a single sitting. The banter and romance between Talie and Renner is SO good! I Highly Recommend.
Official Blurb (drop down)
When Talie Zarna is forced to hide rogue soldier, Renner Cartha, her life isn’t the only thing threatened. Living as the famed Soaring Staress on the circus spaceship Midway masks her true identity, but Renner’s very presence threatens to draw unwanted attention.
As a former royal guard, Renner holds secrets of his own. Like evidence of a political assassination. Renner's flirtatious confidence is at odds with the seriousness of his mission, but when his former guard captain, Jas Uli-Tai, discovers him hiding among the circus performers, Talie risks everything she's come to cherish—going so far as to leave the safety of the Phenomena circus—to do what is right.
With Jas closing in at every turn, their only option for escape is a cocky smuggler who’s not quite what he seems and an underground resistance group called The Rising that’s fighting for change in the galaxy.
Faced with the weight of her true identity and the cost of embracing it, Talie must decide if she is willing to give up everything for the sake of saving the Galaxy, even if that means giving up the boy she loves.

Falling Through the Black | Book 2 Review and Summary
"SHE SURVIVED THE DESERT. HE’S REENTERED THE FIGHT. AND THE REBELLION IS RISING THROUGH IT ALL."
In Falling Through the Black we follow double agent Leef and lost princess Mer as they navigate a rebellion, a manipulative King and a budding romance that threatens their desire to free their galaxy from tyrannical rule.
What a ride! I was so excited to read this after finishing the first book because I absolutely adored Leef in the last book. This book had a bit of a slower start than the previous one but when it got going, boy did it go! There were more twist than a pretzel and moments where I literally whispered, “Oh no, now what?” Such a great read! And every time he calls her 'love' or 'Little Thief,' happy sigh.
Make sure you read the first book because they do continue one another and Renner and Talie make an appearance more than once in this book.
Official Blurb (drop down)
"Leef Verus is back in the fight and on his way to the planet Neba to carry out the next part of his mission, but the clock is ticking. With Dot still in pieces and Talie out of commission, the next stage of the plan rests heavily on a young woman once thought lost to the desert.
Merritt fought the arid wastelands of Neba and survived, winning a place for herself in a ragtag family of misfits that have healed a part of her broken heart. Her life as a thief and part-time Rising supporter is enough for her, but all of that is put to the test when a roguish young man bursts in to shatter the tentative peace she’s come to expect.
With an increased military presence enforced by High King Praxin, tensions in the galaxy are high and the disparity between the wealthy and the working class continues to grow.
The Soldier finds himself in the midst of progressively difficult operations where not only are his skills tested, but his loyalties as well.
Through it all, the Rising, the underground rebel force, seeks to arrange the pieces of a complex puzzle of power. Their aim to overthrow King Praxin rests solely on self-sacrifice and the belief in their plans for peace, but is it enough?
Put to the test, Leef and Merritt must face the space-cold truth of where their loyalties lie, and if love really can conquer all." - from Amazon

Rising From the Galaxy | Book 3 Review and Summary
"HIS LOYALTY HAS SHIFTED. HER TRUE COLORS ARE SHOWING. THE FIGHT FOR THE GALAXY IS ON."
The final book in the series is a doozy! We are still following Renner and Tallie as they attempt to unite the galaxy against its tyrannical ruler, and Leef and Mer as they hunt for a way to cure his sickness and help her sister. Book 3 introduces Ren from the previous books, and Caspian, the prince of the tyrant king who is finally prepared to defy his father and join the rising to right the galaxy!
This is the longest book in the group and for a good reason! So much happens with each couple, culminating in an epic final showdown that will determine the fate of the entire galaxy!
Official Blurb (drop down)
"Forced to face the reality of the corruption overtaking the galaxy, The Soldier sheds his true purpose in order to join the Rising. There's only one problem. He's forced to work with an old flame who broke his heart cycles ago.
Rising operative Rin is pushed to her limits as the fast-approaching war becomes a reality and her rightful place is demanded of her. Fighting not only for the good of the galaxy but against her attraction to the young man she's forced to partner with, Rin must make difficult choices between her heart and her duty.
Across the Black, Talie and Renner fight to win over the Outlier Rim to the Rising's side while Leef and Merritt face a great unknown that lies behind a deadly space storm in hopes of finding aid.
With King Praxin's armies reaching into every aspect of the galaxy, the Rising is quickly running out of time as they fight to replace corrupt leaders on the high council. Will their numbers be a match for the bot army and military presence spreading like space dust to every corner? And can they find the help they need in unlikely allies? Or will the galaxy descend into chaos and corruption at the hands of an evil dictator?" - from Amazon
